Many Seniors receiving home care while living in their own homes have expressed their feelings of isolation and depression. Sometimes they exhibit anxiety if family members are not available to be present around the clock, especially as a senior become more dependent on others. Of course, each Senior’s home life is unique, some with lots of family and socialization and others with less.

In comparison, a Seniors anxiety level in long-term care can be relatively high upon admission, but later subsides as they become familiar with staff members and come into a trusting relationship with them.

The social setting in which Seniors live has enormous impact upon the quality of their lives.
In the long-term care setting, seniors have many staff and other resources close at hand when needed, whereas in home care these resources are not as immediately available. Chaplains, social workers and other healthcare staff play significant roles in the spiritual and emotional well-being of seniors.

Seniors who find meaning and purpose in a safe environment, in the midst of their medical diagnosis, seem to have a relatively good quality of life and cope better with their illness.

Chaplains are seniors and family advocates who can be helpful in guiding seniors through the sometimes overwhelming processes in our healthcare facilities and systems. It is truly an honor to journey with seniors, and families during these vulnerable times in their lives

Senior Living Chaplains provides dedicated support and care by building relationships of trust and confidence through regularly scheduled facility visits. Family members of residents also know and appreciate that there is a dedicated Chaplain assigned to care for their loved one. In addition, our Chaplains are available for crisis events or emergency situations.

        SENIOR LIVING CAREGIVER

Being a Senior Living Caregiver requires patience, understanding, and can be demanding in time, energy and emotionally.

Family dealing on a daily basis with the changing moods and physical demands of caring for seniors is a challenging and emotionally draining position.

Management deals with an employee and resident base that is constantly turning over, as well as listening to family members who seem to never be satisfied.

During their regularly scheduled visits, a Senior Living Chaplain will be available to any family member or staff for a brief discussion about a personal problem or issue. Longer discussions during lunch, a break, at a home or other neutral site, before or after work hours are a natural extension of growing relationships.

Chaplains are an extension of the care for Seniors.  Senior Living Chaplains are available to understand the overall mood and changing conditions of the people connected to a family members care or a facility care.

Chaplains accentuate the joyous times, as well as providing uplift during the times of sadness and depression.

The Association of Christian Chaplains, Senior Living Chaplains provides dedicated support and care to Senior Shut-Ins residing in their own homes as well as Seniors who are living in Long-Term Care. We build relationships of trust and confidence through regularly scheduled facility visits.

Family members of residents also know and appreciate that there is a dedicated Chaplain assigned to care for their loved one. In addition, our Chaplains are available for crisis events or emergency situations around the clock.
